Privacy Policy for Striv
Welcome to Striv. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about the data we collect. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal data.
1. Data We Collect
Account Information
- Email address: Required for authentication via Supabase Auth
- Password: Stored encrypted by Supabase Auth - we never see your plain text password
Fitness Data
- Workout sessions: Exercises performed, sets, reps, weights lifted, rest times between sets
- Body measurements: Weight (in kg), body fat percentage
- Exercise preferences: Favorite exercises, custom exercise configurations
- Training routines: Custom workout programs you create
- Workout schedules: Planned workout sessions and timing
Financial Information
- Subscription purchase history: Processed by RevenueCat
- Subscription status and entitlements: Whether you have premium access, trial status
- Important: Payment methods are handled directly by the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. We never store credit card details or other payment information.
Device Information
- Notification preferences: Used for locally scheduled weigh-in reminder notifications
App Activity
- Exercise library interactions: Exercises you favorite or frequently use
- Routine creation and configuration: Custom workout templates you build
- Program schedules: Your training plans and calendar
- User settings: Weight unit preferences (kg/lbs), calendar settings, rest timer defaults
- Disclaimer acceptance: Timestamp recording when you acknowledged the exercise information disclaimer
AI Workout Generator Data
When you use the AI Workout Generator (a premium feature), we collect and process:
- Conversation messages: The prompts and messages you send to the AI and the responses you receive. These are held in temporary session memory only and are not permanently stored by Striv.
- Training context (optional, opt-in): If you enable the "My Data" toggle, the following data is sent to the AI to personalise your workout recommendations:
- Training history summary (workouts this week, streak, total workouts)
- Recent workouts (last 5 session names and exercises)
- Muscle recovery status and weekly volume data
- Personal records (up to 30 exercises)
- Body weight
- Equipment and goal selections: The equipment constraints and training goals you select for each AI session
AI conversation data is not permanently stored by Striv. Each session is independent and cleared when you start a new conversation.
2. How We Use Your Data
Core App Functionality
- Sync your workouts across all your devices
- Track your fitness progress over time
- Calculate personal records (PRs) and volume PRs
- Display workout history and analytics
- Provide in-workout intelligence (previous performance, recent averages)
Notifications
- Weigh-in reminders: Optional locally scheduled reminders you can configure or disable at any time
Subscription Management
- Verify your premium feature access
- Process subscription status and entitlements
- Manage trial periods and grace periods
AI Workout Generation
- Generate personalised workout routines based on your goals and equipment
- When you opt in via the "My Data" toggle, use your training history and fitness data to tailor AI-generated recommendations to your experience level and recovery status
App Improvement
- We may analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve features (no individual tracking)
- Identify and fix bugs
- Optimize app performance
3. Data Sharing
We share your data with the following third-party service providers who help us operate Striv:
- Purpose: Database hosting, user authentication, data synchronization
- Data shared: All user data including account information, fitness data, and app activity
- Location: Data stored in Supabase cloud infrastructure
- Purpose: Subscription management and in-app purchase processing
- Data shared: Purchase history, subscription status, user ID, email address
- Purpose: AI-powered workout generation
- Data shared: Conversation messages, equipment and goal selections, and (only when you enable the "My Data" toggle) training history, personal records, body weight, muscle recovery status, and weekly volume data
- When shared: Only when you actively use the AI Workout Generator feature. No data is sent to OpenAI unless you initiate an AI session.
- Data retention by OpenAI: Data sent via OpenAI's API is subject to OpenAI's privacy policy. OpenAI does not use data submitted via their API to train their models.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Your data is only shared with the service providers listed above for the specific purposes of operating Striv.
4. Data Security
We take data security seriously and implement industry-standard measures to protect your information:
- Encryption in transit: All data transferred between your device and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Database access control: Access to your data is restricted by Row Level Security (RLS) policies that ensure users can only access their own data
- Secure authentication: Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using platform-standard secure storage
- Password protection: Your password is never stored in plain text - it is encrypted by Supabase Auth
5. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Access
You can view all your data within the app at any time. Your workout history, body measurements, routines, and settings are always accessible through the app interface.
Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by going to Settings > Account > Delete Account. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
Export
If you would like to export your data in a machine-readable format, please contact us at privacy@striv.life. We will provide your data within 30 days of your request.
Correction
You can edit your data directly within the app at any time. This includes modifying past workout entries, updating body measurements, and changing your settings.
6. Data Retention
Active Accounts
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. This allows you to access your complete workout history and track your long-term progress.
Deleted Accounts
When you delete your account, all your personal data is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days. This includes:
- Account information (email, authentication credentials)
- All fitness data (workouts, body measurements, routines)
- App settings and preferences
- Subscription history (except as required for financial record-keeping)
7. Children's Privacy
Striv is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information as quickly as possible.

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will notify you by:
- Sending an email notification to the address associated with your account
- Displaying an in-app notice when you next open Striv
- Updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy
Your continued use of Striv after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
